Climate Change Resilience in Agriculture: Vulnerability and Adaptation Concerns of Semi-Arid Tropics in Asia uri icon

abstract

  • There is global consensus that climate is changing mainly due to the anthropogenicemissions of green house gases (IPCC, 2007b). Also, there is a widespread concernover long-term climate changes and changes in climate variability through occurrenceof extreme weather events such as cyclones, floods, droughts, sea level rise etc.Agriculture is exposed, directly and affected considerably by climate and its changes.Due to the spatially different impacts of climate change, there is a need to understandits context in each region with respect to exposure, expected impacts, vulnerability statusand the response strategies to mitigate, core and adapt better with the process of climatechange
