  • This special issue, â??Food Tree Species and Poverty Alleviation,â?� contains four papers presented by a panel of experts at a workshop on â??Potential Role of Wild Fruit Tree and Other Food Tree Species for Nutrition, Poverty Alleviation and Biodiversity Conservation in Sub-Saharan Africa.â?� The workshop was Organized by the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique et Technologique (CNRST) of Burkina Faso and the International Research Development Center (IDRC) of Canada with the support of Tree-Aid, a Non Governmental Organization, the Ministry in charge of the environment of Burkina Faso and its partners (UNDP and FAO), and the regional office of Bioversity International.
